more than enough...
Wonderful post from CurlyCel at Hope Always.
I got this from my aunt this morning:
Recently I overheard a mother and daughter in their last moments together at the airport. They had announced the departure. Standing near the security gate, they hugged and the mother said, "I love you and I wish you enough".
The daughter replied, "Mom, our life together has been more than enough. Your love is all I ever needed. I wish you enough, too, Mom".
They kissed and the daughter left. The mother walked over to the window where I was seated. Standing there I could see she wanted and needed to cry. I tried not to intrude on her privacy but she welcomed me in by asking, "Did you ever say good-bye to someone knowing it would be forever?".
Yes, I have," I replied. "Forgive me for asking, but why is this a forever good-bye?".
"I am old and she lives so far away. I have challenges ahead and the reality is - the next trip back will be for my funeral," she said.
"When you were saying good-bye, I heard you say, 'I wish you enough'. May I ask what that means?".
She began to smile. "That's a wish that has been handed down from other generations. My parents used to say it to everyone". She paused a moment and looked up as if trying to remember it in detail and she smiled even more. "When we said, 'I wish you enough', we were wanting the other person to have a life filled with just enough good things to sustain them". Then turning toward me, she shared the following as if she were reciting it from memory.
I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright no matter how gray the day may appear.
I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun even more.
I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive and everlasting.
I wish you enough pain so that even the smallest of joys in life may appear bigger.
I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.
I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.
I wish you enough hellos to get you through the final good-bye.
She then began to cry and walked away.
They say it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them but then an entire life to forget them.
I hadn't had my PnP time before reading this, but when I did take it, the Lord came through with a reminder of the GN "Jesus is Enough". He always knows just how much is enough, and if we're trusting in Him, knowing that He never gives us more than He knows we can take, then we can know that we're in His hands and He'll be enough for us. To say that I am enough is also acknowledging that nothing is impossible to you. There is nothing that you cannot go through nothing you cannot survive losing, nothing that can move you, because you would still have Me, and that's all you need. You are standing on the Rock, and there you cannot be moved. (Jesus is Enough - paragraph 61)
I WISH YOU ENOUGH - I WISH YOU THAT CONTINUED SPECIAL CONNECTION WITH JESUS - WHO IS ALWAYS ENOUGH!

The Future in Our Hands
My dear friend, Laila, has a new blog: http://thevivacious7.blogspot.com/
The benefits and rewards of raising a family are so great that it is well worth the hard work that goes along with it! I believe that parents can encourage each other and learn from each other. On this page I'll post articles that I've found during my search for parenting ideas and issues. I will try to have a variety or topics that have interested me. I'll also try to post my own thoughts once in a while, time permitting!

Liani's 2nd Birthday
Yesterday was Liani's Birthday. She turned 2. It's such a cute stage of life. She is so petite, yet so active and at times, a little bully. Growing up with two older brothers, she's picked up quite a few of their rowdy traits. Then at other times, she's the cutest little mommy, taking such good care of her baby. And she loves checking herself out in the big mirror, seeing how she looks and all.
She can really talk up a storm too, and even know how to talk her way out of trouble.
The other day I walked into the living room and she was babbling away on the phone. As soon as she saw me, she held out the phone to me and said "It's for Heidi"(...FGA here that uses the phone daily).
Anyway, She's such a joy and is ALWAYS smiling. Such a treasure.

Darren's Birthday
Today we celebrated Darren's 6th birthday. We had a late Easter egg hunt, ice-cream, and setting up his new lego present. Liani was hogging it most of the time, until mom came and took her to some other activity.
It's amazing to see how far Darren has come, and all that he's been through.
