Some time back
I posted about my Desktop running
Ubuntu. Since then I have switched to the
Mepis distro, and have been having a really great time with it.
I haven't had time to delve into it as much as I need to/want to, but it works for what I need it to for now. I still need to install a Window$ imulator for the Fam. appz (infostore/Teletrf) to run on it. I knnow infostore should work...not sure of the other.
For some time I've already been using appz that are linux based on my Win2000 laptop:
OpenOffice,
Firefox,
Thunderbird (email).
So, if anyone is looking to break the micro$oft bonds, try out Mepis. They have a great support forum, lots of friendly help.
